Hitma and Aflex team up to bring innovative hose assemblies to the (bio)pharmaceutical market

Hitma proudly announces a new partnership with Aflex, the global leader in high-quality flexible PTFE hoses. Through this collaboration, Hitma becomes the official distributor of Aflex technology in the Benelux region. With Aflex’s innovative PTFE liner technology, companies in the biopharmaceutical industry can further improve the safety and efficiency of their critical processes. The patented liner design ensures that the hose maintains a perfectly smooth and circular bore without distortion, enabling a reliable and consistent fluid flow. Aflex hose assemblies are designed for demanding applications where chemical resistance, hygiene and reliability are essential. The PTFE lining provides excellent resistance to aggressive chemicals, high temperatures and pressure. The smooth bore minimizes turbulence, ensuring efficient and controlled fluid transfer. Key advantages of Aflex hose assemblies • Excellent chemical resistance thanks to PTFE lining • Highly flexible and kink-resistant • Minimal turbulence and optimal flow performance • Available with natural or anti-static PTFE liner • No adhesives used in manufacturing, eliminating contamination risks According to Hitma’s Sales Manager Rob Mijnsbergen, the partnership marks an important step: “Where we previously supplied silicone tubing, this partnership now allows us to offer the highest quality PTFE hoses as well. This enables us to provide complete solutions for processes involving aggressive chemicals, high temperatures, repeated CIP/SIP cleaning and applications requiring very low permeation.” With this partnership, Hitma further strengthens its position as a supplier of reliable solutions for critical processes in the biopharmaceutical industry. 2. Introducing our range of needle valves

Introducing our range of needle valves

We are pleased to introduce our wide range of needle valves manufactured by AC.MO, AVK's Italian subsidiary. Needle valves, sometimes referred to as plunger valves, enable engineers to finely control and regulate water flows and pressure. This precision is achieved through the fine movement of the shaft, which enables the gearbox to move the piston tube in sliding motion towards opening or closing position, depending on the requirement from the control system. AVK needle valves require very low operating torque, as the piston is always in hydraulic balance with equal force on both sides at all valve positions. This feature significantly reduces actuator and gearbox costs. Other great features are: • One-piece body construction • Stainless steel internal parts and fasteners • All ductile iron parts coated with min. 250 µm fusion bonded epoxy • Shaft sealing with double O-rings • Main seal in the no-flow zone at the valve outlet • 4-6 guide rails ensure very low vibration • Gaskets in technopolymer (TPU) for high resistance to abrasion • Pressure balance in chamber inside for low operating torque Our standard range is as follows • Series 872/00-001 - PN10/16, with gearbox, DN80-1600 • Series 872/00-002 - PN25, with gearbox, DN80-600 • Series 872/00-003 - PN40, with gearbox, DN80-600 Furthermore, we can offer needle valves up to DN2000 and in PN64 and PN100 on request. Our needle valves are therefore also recommended for regulation in large diameter pipelines and at high pressures. Additionally, we offer a selection of optional extras such as actuators and hydraulic pistons/brakes as well as accessories for cavitation prevention. Each valve is fitted to the actual operating data and works without cavitation even at major pressure differences.

    6. Power in the pocket

      Power in the pocket

The RSTX 100 is particularly useful when actuators are mounted in hard-to-reach positions, such as in pits or at height. As its large, high-resolution colour display shows the entire communication, including the actuator’s response, all operations can easily be performed even if the actuator’s own display is out of sight. With a Bluetooth range of up to 20 metres, on-site staff can conveniently operate their actuators without climbing ladders or entering confined spaces. The device is robust yet ergonomic and easy to use while wearing gloves. The unit is ATEX- and IECEx-certified as intrinsically safe (Ex ia) for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. On-site staff can quickly and easily manage all the important tasks related to AUMA actuators, thanks to clear menus and intuitive text. Functions include opening and closing valves, configuring actuator parameters, setting valve end positions, updating actuator firmware, and reading out actuator log data for analysis and diagnostics in CORALINK, the AUMA digital ecosystem. The RSTX 100 remote control works seamlessly with any AUMA actuator in the current ranges: PROFOX, TIGRON, and SA and SQ with AC 01.2 controls. Users can thus operate different AUMA actuator types in their plant in the same intuitive way, speeding up daily work and reducing the need for training.

    7. Project for the first European galvanising plant in Belgium

Project for the first European galvanising plant in Belgium

Challenge Complete all work in record time, as the machine can only be shut down for a maximum of 36 hours. This included completely dismantling the existing rail, reassembling it, aligning it perfectly and repointing it. Proposal We proposed the use of Chockfast® Red because it ensures perfect alignment and adequate resistance to possible oil and grease leaks from the coil feeder. Implementation Finres was involved in the entire process of this project. It helped to determine the work procedure, schedule and coordination with the mechanical team. Effective collaboration for optimal and timely results. "Following a request from SEGAL to repair the seat of a rail coil lift truck (30-tonne capacity), we agreed with Mr Scheppers on an action plan to meet the specifications. After SEGAL's purchasing process, FINRES was ready to begin the necessary actions according to the production schedule. On the day, the FINRES and SEGAL teams worked together to meet the deadlines set by SEGAL. Following this joint intervention, we were able to test the operation of the loading trolley and conclude that the work carried out was satisfactory. If I am consulted for similar work in the future, I will be happy to recommend FINRES for its competence, professionalism and availability. GEORGES PHILIPPET Maintenance Manager - SEGAL
