5 Benefits of Centralized Vacuum Supply
Benefit 1: High uptime Central vacuum systems feature a stand-by vacuum module, which starts up automatically if one of the vacuum pumps fails. Benefit 2: Easy maintenance Any maintenance work on the individual vacuum modules in a central vacuum supply can be performed while the system is running without any restrictions. Easy accessibility to the individual vacuum pumps is guaranteed. Maintenance staff does not even need to enter the production or packaging areas. Benefit 3: Energy saving Central vacuum systems generally need fewer vacuum pumps than a decentralized vacuum supply connected directly to the individual packaging machines. This results in a corresponding reduction in energy consumption. Benefit 4: Demand-driven operation Generally, not all packaging machines require the maximum possible vacuum performance at the same time. Packaging machines with their own vacuum pump are always operating at full power, which is why they consume a lot of energy. Central vacuum systems are controlled on a demand-driven basis. This means that switching individual vacuum modules on and off enables the vacuum system's performance to be adapted to overall demand. The use of variable speed drives allows for even finer-tuned performance adjustment. As such, the system only generates as much vacuum as needed at that point in time. In practice, this results in even greater energy-saving potential. Benefit 5: Lower operating costs Reducing the number of vacuum pumps, using demand-driven control and reducing the air conditioning enables a significant amount of energy costs to be saved. Further energy-saving potential results from easier and, as a result, faster maintenance work. This can be carried out during normal working time, eliminating additional costs for weekend work. Heat recovery helps to save additional costs. Apart from these benefits, more advantages can be named. Are you interested to find out more? Come meet us at our booth!

A chilling challenge: heating propane and ammonia with seawater
How do you heat liquid propane from −43.2 °C to −5 °C safely, in a controlled way, and without unnecessary energy use? A major international player in oil and gas storage approached Kapp with this question. For years, their installation had relied on a conventional steam boiler fired by natural gas. Reliable, but expensive, and with CO₂ emissions that increasingly conflicted with the company’s ambitions. The objective was clear: it had to be more sustainable, safer, and more efficient, without compromising operational reliability. Kapp developed a solution that brought these ambitions together and achieved a CO₂ reduction of no less than 75%.

A compact series reverse osmosis systems for the production of desalinated water: MINI-RO
During Easyfairs® Maintenance exhibition Lubron shows a new series of compact reverse osmosis plants with a capacity of up to 400 gallons of desalinated water per hour. The MINI-RO is able to continue to produce desalinated water with a salt removal of approximately 98%. This series is designed for those processes, where a small amount of pure water with high reliability and good quality is needed. So these plants are applied for e.g. humidification equipment where the installation area is limited and we want to have the certainty of a reliable and maintenance-friendly R.O. System. The MINI-RO is built on a stainless steel frame, equipped with stainless steel pressure tubes, a microprocessor control system with LCD display and a continuous conductivity monitoring in the permeate piping. To extend the permeate quality and to extend the life of the membranes, after every production stop a rinse is realized. The MINI-RO is a product of Dutch origin that is produced and marketed in Oosterhout.

AdvantaPure launches sustainable TPE tubing EcoFlex with more than 15% CO2 reduction
Hitma introduces this new sustainable tubing from AdvantaBio (a brand of supplier AdvantaPure). With this tubing, you can realise a CO2 reduction of approximately 15% compared to AdvantaFlex tubing. Compared to standard TPE tubing, which is produced using fossil fuels, the CO2 reduction is even approximately 23.5%. EcoFlex is the newest translucent thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) single-use tubing from AdvantaPure, developed for sustainable (bio)pharmaceutical production processes. Because EcoFlex is a sealable and weldable product, it is suitable for a broad range of applications. Sustainable solution with no changes to fit, function, and specifications Based on the proven formula of AdvantaFlex TPE tubing, EcoFlex offers the same trusted performance and flexibility required for critical single-use processes. During the EcoFlex production process, fossil oil is replaced with bio-based oil using the mass balance principle. At the same time, EcoFlex, like other AdvantaPure products, is produced using renewable energy. Because the mass balance process requires no changes in form, function, specifications, or production processes, the quality remains identical while the environmental impact is demonstrably lower. An important step towards sustainability In today's (bio)pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets, striking a balance between sustainability, safety, and flexibility is crucial. Single-use systems already consume less energy than traditional stainless steel systems because they eliminate repeated sterilization and cleaning. Yet, single-use systems score highly on material use. Because EcoFlex is a sustainable alternative without changes in form and function, reducing environmental impact and ensuring product integrity are able to go hand in hand. This makes EcoFlex a future-proof and more sustainable choice for single-use applications.

Automatic Disinfection Filtration (ADF)
With the introduction of an environment-friendly and energy-saving ADF-unit Lubron responds to most recent desires and needs at cooling water treatment. By the Green ADF-unit harmful toxic biocides belong to the past. The cooling water is led through a filter bed by the activated pre-filtration. Subsequently, the cooling water is disinfected by means of the Advanced Oxidation Technology (AOT technique). This technique has a legal authorization for use in cooling water. In addition, a CIP-scheme is built to perform the legally required preventive disinfection as described in the worksheet AI-32 All this is done with an absolute minimum of power consumption of 80 watts. The ADF unit will be presented during the Easyfairs Maintenance exhibition.

Bucher AX pumps and motors
Bucher Hydraulics presents the AX series, the most innovative industrialized piston pumps and motors. Due to a mirrored design based on slightly rotation parts, a pressure limit of 500 bar is possible with very low velocity and pressure shrinkage. Thanks to short piston stroke, small displacement angle and hydrostatic bearings, AX units are able to operate with less noise and low vibration even at very low speed (below 1 rpm). Small axial forces due to symmetrical design make AX series very compact with high power. AX offers excellent efficiency even at the starting point, so much so that starting torque is available as the maximum theoretical value. Tandem through drive is also available.

Butterfly valves with droplock system
Customer situation A leading international manufacturer of metal powders in Wallonia stores its metal powders in silos. Their current butterfly valves did not properly seal the exit of these silos, causing small amounts of this powder to be lost each time. Solution Fluxer recommended butterfly valves with a drop lock system, especially for use under silos or containers. Their centrally located valve disc with special shaft connection ensures absolute sealing in both directions of flow. The seals of these butterfly valves have a lateral overlap and an additional sealing edge and this gives a perfect seal between the flanges without additional flange seals.
