Hygienic rupture disc from CDC

Rupture discs for hygienic applications A rupture disc is a pressure safety device that protects a system against overpressure and/or underpressure (vacuum), preventing explosion or implosion. It is an engineered weak spot that ensures the rest of the system remains intact. The rupture disc is deployed in a closed system to create a pressure relief opening at a certain pressure, preventing the pressure or vacuum from becoming too high. Pressure safety is essential because the consequences of an accident can be fatal.
